Kate is a busy girl. Some days I can't keep up and today, it's only noon! I can't even imagine what the rest of the day has in store for me.
I have been working on a quilt for my bed and had some scissors* out of the way, but within reach of the kids. While I was in the shower this morning, Kate found them. When I saw them on the floor I thought, "Wow, I'm lucky nothing really bad happened." Then I changed her diaper and realized she had cut her Dora jammies. Her brand new, favorite jammies. Just a little cut so easy to fix right? Right.
I put her in the bathtub* and grabbed a patch to fix the jammies. Unfortunately, I ironed the wrong side of the patch and attached it to my iron, my brand new iron. (I hate it when that happens!) I went into the bathroom to check on Kate and she had pulled the bath towel into the bathtub then pushed it onto the floor. The towel, the rug and the floor were soaked!
Hey, at least her favorite stuffed animal is dry. She dunked it in and out of the the toilet the other day until the toilet bowl was empty and all the water was on the floor and the walls. I'm just grateful she didn't flush it!!
Oh, and Kate has decided that she doesn't want to take a nap anymore. She's not even two!!! Don't worry, she still gets quiet time in her crib for two hours, until she learns to climb out!
Like I said, just another typical day!
*Scissors and being left alone in the bathtub are hazards for small children.
