Scott's birthday is on Monday and once again, he opted to skip the friend birthday party and get more presents. Good news for me! His school had a carnival on Friday and somehow he decided that was his "friend" birthday party. Whatever works. John's school had a carnival scheduled for the 5th but it was cancelled because of the weather so Scott was very nervous that his was going to get cancelled too. It has rained every day this month except for 2 days. Luckily, Friday was a good day. The carnival ended at 8:00 and it started raining at 9:15.
All the kids loved the carnival and this year John was able to climb up the slides without help. There was one slide that he particularly loved and went on it over and over and over. I'm glad he stuck with one attraction so I could just stand there instead of having to run around. At about 7:30 I noticed that he was holding himself and dancing a bit so I knew he needed to go to the bathroom but when he is having fun it's hard to get him to go. While he was in line, I asked him if he needed to go potty. Of course, his answer was no but the attendant for the slide said, "I think he has needed to go for a long time." That just made me laugh and I laughed for a long time. We made it home without an accident but he was sure dancing once he made it to the bathroom.
I have been really bad lately in buying things for Kate. I think it's hard to have a birthday so close to Christmas because kids change so much in a year and I think Kate "needs" things in the middle of the year. I know I need to get over that. This week I bought her several items that she "needed." (Ok, so 3 of the things were clothes so maybe that doesn't count.) She can be such a girly girl and I found 2 dresses that she liked so I bought those and then I found a really cute long nightgown with a pretty robe so I bought that. She loves that nightgown and calls it her jammie dress. I have to say she really needs to wear a slip with it because it is SO see through even with the robe, but she just wears it to bed so it works.
Last of all, I get my picc line pulled this next week and it's not by choice. My insurance pays for 100 days per year and I hit that mark next week. My home healthcare told me I could just pay cash up front for the rest of my pregnancy but I certainly can't afford $6,000 per month! Part of me is glad to get rid of the line because it is a pain, however, it keeps me feeling good. I've been cutting back on my iv meds and I can tell. It's more effective to put medication in my iv than to take the medication orally. I have 10 weeks left, hopefully just 8 if this baby is early like the others were so hopefully I won't be sick. But if I am, my insurance WILL pay for ER visits. Seems kind of ridiculous but whatever!

You're nice. My kids have never been to the carnival. If things get rough once the picc line comes out, I'm happy to bring over a meal or take some kids off your hands. Just let me know. Hopefully you'll just feel great!
How are you doing with your pic line out now? Good thing you're almost there, right? I have a new phone number. Please call me when you have your baby and I'll bring you dinner the night you come home from the hospital-- unless you'd prefer another day. I hope everyone is taking good care of you. Call me! (I'll send you a message on fb with my new number) Love ya!
