. . . about allowance, that is.
I haven't paid Scott his allowance for four weeks and he hasn't said a word! He will still do chores but money just isn't a motivator. He even lost a tooth last week and didn't remember to put it under his pillow. The "tooth fairy" put it under his pillow as well as the money and the money is still sitting on the counter. He just didn't care about putting it in his bank. I was giving him his allowance even when he didn't say anything but he doesn't even want to spend it. What's the deal with that? He is just content with what he has. I suppose he won't be one of those people who rack up tons of credit card debt (like I did before I was married). I have started giving him a small toy when he does something really great and that seems to be a big motivator.
Also, if you want a great deal, catch John with money. Yesterday we went to the store and I used cash. The change was $5.51. John took the five and wouldn't give it up. I offered him a penny for the five and he took it without hesitation. The coins are easier to throw than the bills are!! What a great trade!!
